The Complex Medical Help Program, formerly known as the Children with Medical Handicaps Program, offers to help children and their families in the state of Ohio with attaining referrals to specialists as needed and to offer assistance with financials when obtaining diagnostics and treatment for chronic medical conditions.
There are two main programs which are the Diagnostic Program and the Treatment Program which have different coverage types that varies per client’s diagnosis and needs.
Some examples of condition that are eligible for the CMH program are as follows: Asthma, Cerebral Palsy, Seizure Disorder, Diabetes, Hearing Loss, Heart Conditions, Arthritis, Spina Bifida, Brian Injuries, & Cleft lip/Palate. This is not an all-inclusive list as there are many conditions that are offered coverage.
If you know of a child or have a child that lives in Monroe County that you think could benefit from this program, please call or refer them to the Public Health Nurse at the Monroe County Health Dept at: 740-472-1677 Ext. 4.
