Court Jurisdiction:
The territorial jurisdiction of the Monroe County Court includes all of Monroe County. The court consists of the criminal division and the civil division. The criminal division handles traffic cases and all misdemeanor criminal cases. The civil division handles complaints up to $15,000.00, small claims up to $3,000.00 and eviction cases.
Fines

2. Include your ticket and/or slip provided to you from the issuing officer and mail a money order or cashier's check for the exact amount made payable to Monroe County Court. If you want to receive a receipt, you must send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your payment. *You may send a personal check only if you live in Monroe County or your financial institution is located in Monroe County.
In Person:
You may pay by cash (exact change required) during regular business hours.
You must provide proof of insurance, if not marked on your ticket as provided, when paying by mail or in person. If you fail to provide proof of insurance, it will be reported to the BMV and the BMV will contact you.
IF YOU WISH TO APPEAR, you may enter a plea of Guilty, No Contest, or Not Guilty.
A plea of Guilty or No Contest will result in immediate sentencing with a fine and court costs. If you plead Not Guilty, you case will be set for trial to the Court.
If you cannot pay at the time of your plea, the court will grant you additional time by executing a Pay or Appear Agreement, which will have a payment due date. If you fail to pay by that date and have not requested an extension, your license will be suspended until payment is received.

ALL TRAFFIC TICKETS 30 DAYS PAST DUE DATE WILL BE TURNED IN FOR LICENSE SUSPENSION, UNLESS YOU APPEAR IN COURT ON YOUR ARRAIGNMENT DATE AND MAKE OTHER ARRANGMENTS WITH THE JUDGE.
MUST APPEAR OFFENSES
Traffic Rule 13(B) violations are must appear offenses and include:
Indictable offenses O.M.V.I. (Operating a Motor Vehicle under Influence)
Leaving the scene Driving under suspension, revocation or cancellation
No operator's license Third moving violation within 12 months
Failure to stop for a school bus Drag Racing
Willfully fleeing and eluding a police officer Misuse of non-commercial plates
Violators under any traffic section must provide proof of insurance (ORC 4509.101)
